the story the paragraph man is the faltering, stumbling, comic, sad and tragic story of an immigrant youngsters journey towards sociopolitical awareness, a very first attempt to understand his true situation as an immigrant in post-colonial sweden. the paragraph man poses provocative questions of immigrant blackness and swedish whiteness, the immigrant experience of mental alienation and inferiority, and questions such as identity, stereotypes, xenophobia and fear. |
